From MSY, Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport:

1) Taxi: approx. $36-$40/one or two person(s) plus tip
Unbelievably, more than half the taxi drivers at the airport do not know the streets of the French Quarter-- even with a million tourists a month heading there. I suggest calling a New Orleans based cab company, United Cab. They sit at a cab stand across the street from the Airport. When you put your hands on your bags at baggage claim, call them at (504) 522-9771 and they will drive around and pick you up relatively quickly. Give them our address, 2438 Royal Street, and they will know the way...

2) PRIME Transit: Your personal concierge/chauffeur/tour guide in New Orleans. Dwayne F. Clipps Sr.
(504) 957-5062. dfclipps@yahoo.com. His rates are comparable with the taxi's, and he knows the way here.

His rates are:
$36 for one person
$40 for two people
$50 for three people
and $15/person for four, five, six or seven people.

3) Airport Shuttle: approx. $24/person one way and $44/person round trip
There is a kiosk near the baggage claim area where you can book an airport shuttle. The shuttle services will not officially come directly to us. They will come within about five blocks of us. If you decide to do the shuttle service, just book the ride to the Frenchmen Hotel. I think the Frenchmen Hotel is their last stop before starting the return to the airport. Our guests usually just ask the shuttle driver to go a "few" more blocks and drop them at their B&B at 2438 Royal Street (the corner of Royal and Spain Streets)

4) Uber: $33
UberX has a flat $33 rate from the airport to anywhere in Orleans Parish. There is a specially designated space in the garage for them to pick you up. There is always an even in New Orleans so, watch for rate surges.

5) Rental Car: drive yourself, 18 miles
Directions from New Orleans International Airport: Take I-10 East into New Orleans. Stay in the left most lane and continue onto I-610 East to Slidell. Take exit 3, and turn right onto Elysian Fields. Continue for approximately 2 miles and turn left onto Dauphine Street. Go three blocks to the first stop sign and take a right onto Spain Street. Proceed one block to Royal Street where we are on the corner of Royal and Spain Streets. There is plenty of free on-streetparking available. You can usually park right at the front door. Those of us that live in the neighborhood, park on the street.

6) Bus: $2.00
The E2 - Airport Route provides service from the Louis Armstrong New Orleans International Airport in Kenner, down Airline Drive into New Orleans. During weekdays only, it provides service to the New Orleans CBD (Central Business District) at the corner of Loyola and Tulane. That is on the west side of the French Quarter. We are about a mile east of there. The Airport bus stop is on the second level of the airport, near the Delta counter, in the median (look for the sign and bench). Check out the website for a map and schedule: Map: http://www.jeffersontransit.org/schedules/E2Airport-Map.htm For a schedule, click Airport Route Schedule (Adobe Acrobat PDF).
From there you can call a cab to bring you the rest of the way (a little over a mile), walk here, walk a block or two and catch the Canal Street Streetcar down to the river, then transfer to the Riverfront Streetcar and ride it to the French Market and walk the last 6 blocks to us. Fare: The fare for the Airport Downtown Express route is $1.50 in Jefferson Parish and $2.00 to go to downtown New Orleans. The fareboxes will accept $1, $5, $10, $20 dollar bills and all U.S. coins. The fareboxes will provide change in the form of a value card that can be used for future fares.
