The adjacent guest bathroom is accessed through the hallway. OPEN SPACE LIVING AREA The living area features classic brick walls, modern chandeliers, and floor-to-ceiling windows with views of the city. There is a dining area for 4, as well as a sitting area, and a 55" smart TV perfect for streaming from your Amazon/Netflix or favorite streaming account. The full chef's kitchen is equipped with custom cabinetry, beautiful marble countertops, stainless steel gas range, a microwave, dishwasher, and refrigerator with filtered ice maker. The CBD has it all from award-winning restaurants, and the finest bars, and nightclubs to art galleries and event venues. In addition to the skyscrapers, you can find popular destinations like the French Quarter, Bourbon ST, Mercedes Benz Superdome, the Ernest N. Morial Convention Center, The National WW2 Museum, and Harrah’s Casino, all less than a mile away from our front doors. The Alexandre's location really is the best in the City of New Orleans! The Street Car is our form of public transportation and is also known as a "trolly". The nearest Street Car stop is located a block away on the iconic St. Charles Ave and it costs $1.25 per person. You can also purchase a 24-hour pass for $3.00. Please have exact change if possible. Blue bikes are available throughout the city. If you are looking to rent a bike we recommend downloading the Blue Bike app. Uber and Lyft are always available and usually very affordable with minimal waiting time. PARKING Due to its location in the heart of the city, we do not have onsite parking of our own. There is metered parking with 2 hour limit between 7 AM and 7 PM, and it's first come first serve. Overnight street parking is free and has no limitation between 7 PM and 7 AM. It's essential to pay attention to street signage to identify the areas where parking is allowed. There are also 12 parking lots/garages throughout the Central Business District area. Most of the garages and lots are operated by Premium Parking. To locate the best parking option for you we recommend you download the Premium Parking app. EARLY CHECK-IN AND LATE CHECK-OUT Early check-in or late check-out may be possible at an extra charge, depending on the availability, and can’t be guaranteed. We do have luggage storage free of charge for our guests to use. HISTORIC LOCATION The Alexandre Building is a very unique and historic space. The building was constructed in the early 1800s and was many different things including a large newspaper manufacturing plant, and the New Orleans Jazz and Heritage Foundations' original headquarters. We have completely remodeled the building and while doing so we preserved as much of its historical value as possible. This makes the Alexandre special and we hope you enjoy the work that was completed to preserve the space. With all the historical buildings in city centers, we want you to be aware of some items that need more tender loving care. The windows, shutters, front door, and brick walls in your unit are original. The brick has been sealed so there is minimal brick dust that will fall but please be aware if the walls are touched there may be some dust. The windows are sealed shut but as with all old windows, you may hear some outside street noise coming through. The door is very heavy and sometimes stiff it just needs a gentle push once and a while.
